Frothy Monkey's original location is here. Five Daughters Bakery draws a line on Saturday mornings for its 100 layer doughnut. Edley's Bar B Que got its start in 12 South before it expanded around Nashville. Urban Grub turned an old car wash into a dinner spot. For shopping, Imogene + Willie is known for its denim, and Buck Mason and White's Mercantile are close by. Weekend mornings get busy with visitors, and weekdays are calmer, which is when I like to walk it. Parking on 12th is metered, so living within walking distance changes how you use the street. You stop planning trips and start just going. That is what I mean when I call 12 South a walkable Nashville neighborhood. Shops change over time, so I always tell people to check hours before they go.
